21st October 2010 Castle Design Solutions are very pleased to announce that a new SEO (search engine optimisation) and content writer has joined their team. James will be responsible for providing content writing services for website design, along with article writing and press release writing. All of his work is expertly created to maximise search engine optimisation techniques, and so allow your website to gain a higher page ranking on the search engines. The art of skillful content writing is being increasingly ignored by many website designers. However, the best designed website in the world will be of little value if the content on the website does not match up to the visitor’s expectations. The increased focus on adding endless links to a website in order to boost its search engine ranking by many SEO companies has also seen the role of the content writer pushed to one side. Such SEO companies forget that the basics of a good website, and in turn good search engine optimisation, begins with good website content. However, possibly the biggest failing of many websites in recent times has been, that in their quest for higher search engine ranking, they have forgotten that the most important visitor to any website is not the serach engine robot, but rather the website viewer – the potential customer that was supposed to be the main reason for creating the website in the first place! 4th October 2010 This week we will be continuing our ongoing marketing campaign for our web design services by visiting businesses in the local towns of Knutsford, Cheshire, and Leek, Staffordshire. In line with our usual friendly and helpful approach, we will be calling in on potential customers and explaining exactly how our web design and graphic design services could be of value to them. Both Knutsford and Leek are exactly the sort of towns that would benefit from the services we offer in web design and graphic design. There are lots of small businesses in Knutsford and Leek that my not have thought of having a website designed, but may find that a web design company that specialises in dealing with the small business community throughout Cheshire and Staffordshire could be of great service to them. We will be visiting Knutsford, Cheshire in the early part of the week, and then moving on to Leek, Staffordshire for the later part of the week. As the requests for interactive dynamic websites and ecommerce websites has grown, it became apparent to us that we needed to increase our pool of web programmers to deal with our workload. Mark joins us as an experienced web programmer in complex and interactive websites. His internet programming skills will prove extremely valuable to the team in their continued work of creating high quality websites. As more and more companies seek to gain a competitive edge by selling their goods and services online, the need to meet the requirements for well designed and expertly programmed ecommerce websites has grown. Adding an extra programmer to our team, who is an expert in producing high quality ecommerce websites, will secure our ability to produce ecommerce websites for our customers well into the future.
1st October 2010 The new website for our sister company, Castle Printing Solutions, has now been completed and has gone live. When designing the website for Castle Printing Solutions we wanted to create a website that would be user friendly and easy to navigate. As the new printing company offers thousands of different printed products, with each product being available in a variety of sizes, finishes, weights and quantities, it was important that the website did not become over complicated. It would have been very easy for the website to become information intensive and overly difficult to navigate. However, by creating a series of menus that are easy to understand, we believe that we have created a website that customers will enjoy using. We also wanted to create a website that would be visually pleasing and showcase some of our web design options in our web design portfolio. Due to the number of pages required, and the extensive product range, it was necessary to create the website using a content management system. We used WordPress to create the template for the website. The website also needed to be capable of ecommerce functionality so that visitors could order the products directly from the website. Rather than create another ecommerce website, we decided to use paypal integration for the ordering process. Although this took us longer to program due to the extensive range of products, it allows us to showcase a paypal integration website in our web design portfolio. It was important to us that we were able to do this, as paypal integration is an excellent tool for the small business community that we serve. It allows visitors to make purchases online, without our client having to go to the expense of ordering a fully functional ecommerce website. While Castle Printing Solutions offers a much bigger product range than we would normally recommend for paypal integration, we didn’t mind putting in the extra work to provide this working example of a paypal integration ecommerce website.
